GROUP CLASSES

Group classes are designed for family dogs that are generally calm and already under the reasonable control of the owners. Dogs must be friendly and be able to be quiet and attentive to their owner and non-disruptive in a class setting in close proximity to other dogs and people. These classes are NOT designed for the purpose of socialization, as dogs in these classes will not interact with one another but will need to be able to largely ignore other dogs and focus on their owners. Dogs who are reactive to other dogs or too distracted to focus on their handler in a group environment will be referred to private instruction.

All group classes are conducted at our location. All group class students receive a total of 8 hours of instruction in 6 sessions. The first session is an orientation to training and the remaining sessions are hands-on training, one hour per week in a class setting. Class size is limited to 4 dog/handler teams and the instructional time is shared.

*Group Classes are not frequently available. For a Group Class to be offered, several handler and dog teams that meet class eligibility criteria must want the same class at the same time. Most of our clients elect to have one-on-one instructional time. If you are interested in Group Classes only and we do not currently have an offering, we will be happy to refer you to other resources.

PUPPY KINDERGARTEN

Designed for puppies ages 14 weeks to 6 months of age, this class is designed to meet the criteria for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Title. When not available as a group class, it is available as a Specialty Program.

BASIC MANNERS

This group class for dogs and puppies 16 weeks of age or older focuses on the fundamentals of the human-canine bond, communication, attention and basic manners skill building for walking politely on a loose leash, sitting and lying down on cue and coming when called. When not available as a group class, owners may wish to consider our Polite Pooch or Dependable Dog Programs or Family Dog Mediation Services as an alternative.
